New to Intel CPUs How Did i Do?

Thread Starter
a Recently converted AMD Guy just got myself this 3570k & z75 chipset board off newegg.

My Question is compared to other 3570ks how is my voltage For my Overclock.

i was able to get 4.3ghz stable @ stock voltage and This is my Current Overclock.

Thanks

According to cpu-z your overclock is actually 4.5GHz.

Also set your ram manually using xmp profile since I think your ram is 1600mhz and they are currently at 1333mhz.

Also test in prime95 as 4.5GHz on stock voltage won't be stable. And watch your temps. Refer to my build log, in sig, for tips on setting ram and overclocking the 3570k.

i was just mentioning that i was able to do 4.3 ghz at stable... my ram is 1333mhz 9-9-9-24 kit.

but im actually running it at that cpu-id validation speed. i rather not OC my ram unless its needed for higher Overclocks.

right now that voltage is +0.90v higher than stock. yeah i watch my temps. i get about 88*C atm in prime 95 tops. but in real world applications it doesnt go higher than 65-70*C depending on the game / application i use.

I heard you should only really worry if your temps go >90*C in stress tests with ivy bridge cpus. is that true?
Yes and even then they are fine b/c Intel made the cpu throttle at 105 Celsius. So as long as its only getting that hot during stress test it will be fine. Have you thought about delidding?

alright thx for the tip. Nah i dont plan on deliding i dont got steady hands for that kind of stuff. im just going try squeezing the most out of it.

atm i got a hyper 212+ on it without Fans because i didnt get fan clips so i need to get some lol. got an Ultra Kaze Fan Ready to Put on it. which should reduce overall temps by alot.
just use some zip ties for the fans, clips aren't necessary

get 4 zip ties that will fit through the fan mounting holes on the corners of the fans, sandwich the heatsink with the fans, pass a zip tie through them at all four corners, then put another zip tie on each one to secure them, trim off the excess
