I would advise against using "AUTO" on CPU Vcore while overclocking. Almost all boards over-volt on AUTO..
What program are you using to stress test? You can refer to this post.. http://www.overclock.net/t/1100100/info-intel-2500k-2600k-overclocking-tips

The thermaltake kit was designed to have more elements than just one waterblock added to it. I could look up the specs for the pump but I dont think it makes much of a difference. And all my fans do push air through the radiators, with the exception of the rear radiator, which has two fans push and pulling air in the same direction, into the case, drawing fresh cool air to cool the rad.

I use prime 95 to stress test CPU

Was the reason I originally asked about the top fans.. This must have been an older pic because you didn't have the 120mm rad in the back yet also..

Anyway, good luck with your OC..

.. everyday ..

I try to change up my rig every six months or so.. Or better yet, when I have the money.. lol. I really don't have the need to upgrade until maybe Haswell depending on the performance and what feature set the 1150 socket gives. IDK, my current rig triple boots Win7 - Win8 - OSX 10.8.2 so no complaints.

Hey Guys,

I´m pretty new in Overclocking, and my 2700k needs some of it for my GTX670 SLI (trying to reduce the bottleneck)

I Have a Akasa Nero 3 HeatSInk
MOBO: p8z68-vPRO
RAM 16GB 1600
My Power supply is a Thermaltake 1000w.
CAse Thermaltake V9 Black.

I Got a Overclock in 4.2 on a VCore of 1.2 and PLL Voltage in 1.42 (it seems to cool a bit as i lower this, it is dangerous reduce that? lower than that get unstalb) temps reach 70° on load and 38° stock ble (room temp are about 23°) - tested with prime95 for 1 hr

my question is: I'm from brazil and its fuc... expensive the coolers in here, but i want to see how far i can go with the nero 3, it's so quiet smile.gif.

i would be satisfied with a 4.5 OC with temps max 70° at load. ( By the way, is 70° ok?)

I just bought a thermal grease TG-1 from Thermaltake to substitute the generic one(thos white stuff that shouldn't exist at all) that i had in my CPU i will test it tonight to see if i gain 1° or 2°.

there is any clues in how i can config? maybe turn off HT or Turbo?

Any clues will be awesome for this new OC guy...

Thanks by the way on advance.

Here are my two cents about Overclocking this CPU.
####

I finally succeed overclocking my computer at 4.78 GHz. Here is the result.

Settings:

Multiplier : x48
Base Host Frequency : 100 (default)
CPU Voltage mode : Offset mode
CPU Offset mode : + 0.3 v

Temperature:
Ambient : 22'C

# My air cooling setup > (Click to show)

I have the Phanteks PH-TC14PE cpu air cooler. You can see my bottom-(near psu) intake and my top exhaust. My two 140mm Phantek fans are also pushing air outside, as for the rear Corsair AF140 fan. I also have the two 120mm intake fans (front panel) and the 200mm side panel fan.

My actual questions :

1 : #
About my CPU vCore, is it too high for a stable daily usage, 25% of light gaming ?

..- (heard that optimally, I should be at less than 1.325 max ! I am at 1.344 idle, 1.360 max. I should try putting down my +0.3V offset to like 0.25 or 0.2, but I think I will have to down the multi too..)
