White or black it will be scratched - just a matter of when and how do you treat your phone but eventually it will get scratched.

I'll go for the perfect working phone from the inside not the outside cosmetics.

well to a lot of people there mobile phone is pretty much a fashion statement.. just like owning beats headphones and the color matters to them lol.

I have to agree with the others. Sadly the color treatment they used on the iPhone 5 isn't really scuff resistant / the aluminum they used was too soft. So I would go with the white if you never plan on using a case. Scratches look a lot less noticeable on silver / white. thumb.gif

However, if you still like the look of the black / slate one, and you don't mind it looking beat up in a year than go with that one. Just keep in mind that the black one will scuff up in your pocket without a case.

Pick the black one. Trust me on this, I've owned many black phones and recently decided to buy a white GS3, just for a change. Initially it seemed like a good idea, but owning the phone right now I can hardly stand the color. It's girly and screams "this is a toy for me". Black on the other hand is classy, and I don't know about you but I'd rather go for class. A lesson I had to learn from first hand experience.

As for scratching, a friend got the black IP5 and it's in immaculate condition after a month or so of use. I like to be careful with what I own and I'd rarely put keys, coins or other objects which might scratch it in the same pocket my phone's in.

Well, I checked this thread during the Apple Genius Bar Appointment and it seemed that more people chose black rather than white so I ordered a black one.

I get the phone covered by a clear protector from Ghost Armor so it's pretty nice and neat. On my previous iPhone 5, it had no scratches whatsoever.

Apple Conspiracy: My brother and I went to Apple today and we took the iPhone 5s on display and tried scratching them. No scratch with our nails. We took the phone and scratched it on the corner of the plastic holder for the iPad right next to it and it scratched. We rubbed it and the scratch was gone. How the hell do they do this?!
