Dual-GPU Poor FPS problems in Far Cry 3 (Fix)

Hello everyone,
I signed up to this site purely to try and help others with graphics card issues in Far Cry 3. Over the last few days I've been working on finding the best possible settings to run far cry 3 maxed with my EVGA Classified GTX 590 @ 1920x1080. (single monitor)

A lot of people have been having similar problems with other newer graphics cards and after the latest driver update some issues have dissipated but the vast majority remain. e.g Microstuttering [/CENTER]

When I first started playing FC3 I was getting about 30-40fps which is simply not good enough considering I get 130fps in Skyrim with everything max + even more graphical mods. After tweaking a few settings I'm now getting 55-95FPS with 8xMSAA everything on Ultra w/ 1080p

For a start let's get the obvious stuff out the way:

- Update your nvidia control panel to the latest BETA
- Download nvidia inspector which can be found here:
http://downloads.guru3d.com/NVIDIA-Inspector-1.94-download-2612.html

Open nvidia inspector > Select Far Cry 3 profile > Click the + icon/add application button and find your far cry 3 folder and select farcry3_d3d11
followed by clicking "apply changes"

Also scroll down in nvidia inspector and look for SLI compatibility bits (DX11x) change the value to 0x0C1902F5
now apply changes and exit the program.

Open nvidia control panel and ensure you have "prefer max performance" enabled in global settings. Go to program settings and browse for Farcry3.exe change Multi-Gpu Rendering Mode to "Force alternate frame rendering 2" followed by changing vertical sync to "adaptive"
As for "Multi-display/mixed gpu acceleration" this depends on your set up. Obviously.

This next part is only if you have a EVGA card. (which added 30% more fps for me)
Go to the EVGA drivers website > Select operating system > Select Graphics Card.
Then look for "SLI Enhancement Patch" this has been out for a long time but I noticed a huge difference after installing it.

You're done!

Note: This is just my experience with what worked with my set up, I'm unsure if this will help anyone but I think it's worth a try if you think your GPU isn't scaling correctly.

What really annoyed me about Far Cry 3 is the "microstuttering" there's sadly still no fix for this and for me it's really noticeable, hopefully in the future a patch will be released but for now adaptive vsync is the best option.
