Windows reading 8 Processors after upgrading CPU?

Thread Starter
So I upgraded from a 3570K to a 3770K and now Windows is reading 8 3770Ks in Device Manager. I've tried uninstalling from Device Manager and rebooting to no avail. I was under the impression an OS reinstall wasn't needed in this instance, am I wrong?

The 3770k has Hyperthreading.

With HyperThreading, it looks like 8 cores to Windows.  So, 8 CPUs.

It's a computer!

What this guy said. The 3770k uses hyperthreading technology, each physical core is then treated as two virtual cores, resulting in a total of 8 cores (or 8 CPUs in the device/task manager.)
