[SOLVED] M5A99X EVO and FX-6300 - 8176MB instead of 8192MB RAM - Page 2

No Core C6 state, its a power saving option which I think requires some memory because its directly connected to memory. Here's a description of it
Saves the state to static RAM, so I take it its allocated some RAM.

It's under advanced CPU configuration options.

oh no
I have all power saving options Disabled

Say whaaaa,

Well a part of the memory is being used as cache somehow tongue.gif something in the memory options. Maybe unganged mode uses some memory as cache, no idea why dual channel configuration would do this.

Does your board actually support the chip configuration on the physical RAM?

what do you mean about supporting the chip?
I had previously PII955BE and its was all good it was showing 8192MB

Some boards may not support the memory bank(Sorry I really shouldn't cite wiki not the best to reference for info redface.gif)

Well in that case if it worked with your PHII it may be the IMC on the FX chip. Are you overclocking either CPU/NB or the RAM?

Yea I've seen that happen to me. In BIOS it showed 8176MB instead of 8192MB. It stopped once i started OC'ing the FX-6300.
