You should be getting WAY more than 7-8 hours on that S2. With very extensive use (gaming, web browsing, listening to music...), at least 16 hours.
Done anything to it, like removing stock bloatware, updating it to ICS, and so on? If not, you completely should.

I use CM with my s2 but I recharge the battery when I reach 40% so I dont degrade it...Last charge till 40% was abou 3:30 hours of autonomy..Which I see it very poor...ofcourse that is extensive use but I see it very very very poor..

Galaxy Note 2. Enough said. I stream music all day every day at work for at least 6 hours. And browse the Web watch videos at lunch time. Have push email on two accounts. My phone is typically unplugged by 730am and when I get home around 6 still have at least 65 percent battery left. No wifi at work. Tmo hspa is faster than most networks around where I currently work. Stock note 2 battery. Which is 3100mah.
I have a cdma gnex 2100 ext battery that works for s2b if interested.

Lol @ S2 lasting 16hrz I don't believe that one bit, anyone I know with s2, or even the galaxy note 1 has hard times lasting the day on one charge with normal usage, even less if your a power user.

Blackberry was no different tho, I own a samsung galaxy note1 and before that I had the bold 9900 and before that the bold 9700, they were better then my note battery wise but not by much, neither of them could last the day either... all these phones are around the same...

I had the s2 and if you set it up right it could last for days with hardly no use. About 16 to 20 hours with 2 to 3 hours of talk time and about 50 text with light net usage in areas of decent signal, greater than 20 if the signal stays good. It is just not great out of the box when it comes to battery.

Note 2 can easily last all day with gaming talking texting and heavy web surfing. This is the first device I only charge once a day and it charges so fast that a few hours is enough. Unplugged and not in use I noticed the battery still at 99% charged a few hours later. My other devices with default settings would lose battery rather I used my phone or not.

meh i still find it farfetched and would only believe it with my own eyes, and ya my coworkers have the s3 and Gnote 2 and the battery life is amazing on those phones, but there more of a side grade from my current phone.. if the new N-Series Blackberry doesn't impress me come jan 29, i will give up on wanting a good physical qwerty keyboard phone and wait for the Gnote 3

The gs3 battery is not amazing with the default settings it's worse than the gs2 in my experience. Once you get it set up the way you want it and then and only then will you notice the potential of that phones battery.

It seems like you need a new oem battery. It will cost around 10 to 20 usd. You might be able to get a few more hours out of it but your battery sounds like it is shot. Same thing happened to me. Picked up a new one and I was back to 16 to 20 hours again.
