One more question @Ghost: The MSI board you suggested, i can see 1 PCI slot below the PCI-e x16 slot wont it be disturbing or blocking if we load bigger cards such as GTX 670 ???

There is no pci slot on msi z77ma g45 it only has 2x pcie x16 and 2x pcie 1x slots, but if you want something a bit better, have a look at this !
the bigger atx variant of the same motherboard, moreover there is another pcie x1 slot at the end of the motherboard which you can use if a gpu obstructs another port, and frankly this is the case with most mobo layouts, the ports nearest to gpu ports most of times are rendered useless after fitting in the gpu. wink.gif
http://www.flipkart.com/msi-z77a-g45-motherboard/p/itmdamffydfhxwjz
although do not even this does nto have a pci slot, can you tell me what you are gonna use which needs a pci slot, most stuff today use pcie x16 or x1, for instance most decent sound cards use pcie x1 slot !

but still if you want pci slot too, you can have a look at asrock motherboards on flipkart.com, though i won't suggest taking asrock unless you are really low on budget and can't buy any other stuff !

Thanks Raghu. Thanks for your suggestion. But comparing 7950 with GTX670 with extra 2k spent it is giving 20% better performance than the 7950. 7870 card i thought about getting it from US, which would have cost me 12.5k. If i lack in performance by 35% with the GTX670 with half the price of the card, makes me think about it. I am bit confused about the Graphics card to be purchased here in India or US. Where i can lavishly spend the 12k on other components for higher boost such as RAM to 16GB (I will be using VM's)...

No i wont be using anything on the PCI-e slot. Only one Graphics card. I thought it will block the graphics card. I wont be installing any more Cards in SLI. So more than 1 PCI-e x16 is waste for me.

I think you are getting confused or maybe i did not get you tongue.gif, pcie x16 is the longest slot and is used for gpu and pcie 1x is the smallest slot used for sound card etc, and pci slot is the one which is of less length than pcie x16 but much larger than pcie x1, and most of the old gen peripherals and even a few now use that slot for eg Network Interface Cards most low end ones still use pci and even a few low end sound cards use pci, but thing is the onboard audio and lan cards are pretty much satisfactory in performance compared to these low end devices so the need to have pci slots have been slowly diminishing ! smile.gif

And no your gpu won't be obstructed by anything in that mobo, masi z77ma g45 ! thumb.gif

lolz.. yeah i know PCIe x1 is small. But it looks placed nearby the x16 slot to give room for another 2 x16 slots. So i thought on placing the card whether it would be stuck between x16 and x1 slot. My previous 3870 was not this big of a card. Thats why i was confused...
