I5 - 3570K
IMHO you wont go wrong with either 7970 or 680 unless you are really picky, benchmarker seeker or just looking for best of the best
I would personally go with 7970 for now since you'll get 3 games worth more than 150$!

get 3570k for gaming but I saw that you will be recording + editing? in that case i7 wouldnt hurt

Why get a pair of SSD's for raid0? If he is gaming he would never be able to tell a difference.

Get a pair of 7950s/7970s, 3770k, asrock extreme mobo, good 850w psu, some 2133 ram, single 250GB ssd and a good old 2TB mechanical for storage.Matched with the h100i, your be fine for cooling. Have your pick with case.

As for monitor, I would recommend looking into the lovely Korean ips. 1440 and much better density than the Asus you were looking at.

Should be well within your budget.

i have that z77 extreme4 board and it's really nice. i paired with a 3770k ($220 at microcenter, it was a no brainer) and h80 and with my mild overclock to 4.0 ghz it hangs around 30-40c when i'm gaming. i didn't quite have the same budget, but i went with the 670 and it's been a great card. using the mouse in bios is a nice little touch i haven't had before.

single monitor i would go with the fastest between ati and nvidia, but multiple i would go with nvidia. i had a ton of problems with ati cards and dual monitors.

enjoy your new computer and make sure to share pictures.

Why just get the 250GB SSD? Why not get two, seeing as it's faster and possible cheaper?

What do you think guys, can it work ? I will apreciate all answers, thanks !
If you want to record video while gaming, you could go with a capture card, instead of fraps. I'm not any expert on it, but I've heard that it is better than fraps. If you did that, you'd only have to go for a 3570k.

For the video card, you should go for the 7970, instead of the 670; the 7970 is about the same processing power but cheaper and has more VRAM.

For the RAM, I recommend this:
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096
It is cheap and overclocks like hell

For the CPU cooler, you should probably swap out the 2700 RPM fans for some better ones, or look into an air cooler, like the Noctua NH-D14, which has great stock fans.

You can reduce the power supply down to a 550 watt, if you have 1 GTX 680 or 650 watt, if you have 2 680s or 1 7970.

Well, i must say that i am from EU so i dont have access to USA Amazon or Newegg. My second test is then :

ASUS P8Z77-V LK
ASUS VK278Q 27" LED
Fractal Design Define R4 Black Pearl
Intel Core i7-3770K BOX
Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB 1600MHz
2x MSI R7970 Lightning BE
Noctua NH-D14
Samsung SSD 840 Series 250GB
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 2TB
Seasonic M12II-750W Bronze

Main purpose : BF 3 1080p ULTRA at least 60 FPS stable while recording. Can it work ? smile.gif
post #18 of 36
One 7970 is enough for BF3 Ultra 60 FPS while recording wink.gif
That motherboard is still garbage, go with a Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H.
This is better than a NH-D14 and looks better in my opinon - http://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Heat-pipes-Premium-Patented-PH-TC14PE_BK/dp/B007ZZE63A
Everything else is cool, maybe upgrade to a Samsung 840 Pro, if you're going with the 840 you might as well go with the cheaper 830.

That sounds good. The Phanteks is very similar to the D-14, and it is debatable whether or not one is better. The mounting system on the D14 is apparently better, but the Phanteks is sexier.

Also, 2 7970s is probably overkill. You would save some money with 7950s.
