In my experience, just settings it to 5.1 in the drivers and 5.1 in-game works best.

Dolby Digital muffles a lot of things up for me.

If the game you play supports it, then yeah those are good.

Since CS:GO only supports up to 5.1 I use 5.1

ok i will test it and post results, because with dolby if that was the fault the surround was too blurry/muffled if you get what i mean, i couldnt recognise when the sound was from the front or rear

the sound quality detail depth etc is freaking amazing, just the positional it bothers me a bit

Davolos:

One of the advantages of the Dolby Headphone algorithm is that you can 1) activate the feature by checking the box in the control panel and 2) you can literally drag the speakers that you see in the box closer or farther from the "person." This allows you to bring surround sounds closer or make them louder.
Another example is if you watch a movie in 5.1 sound, you can use dolby headphone and drag the center channel closer to emphasize dialogue. I usually drag the center and rear surrounds closer. The volume of just those channels is raised and you get more emphasis without straining to hear.

can you sent me a pic of your settings on audio center to get an example?

the only bad thing is reverb
dh1 has no reverb and very forward soundstage, dh2 has very slight reverb, and dh3 has a lot of reverb but much more spacious soundstage
