Microstutter gone with MSAA (Battlefield 3) - Page 2

Dude I'll try the 59 thing.
But for now , Adaptive vsync (half refreshment) worked great. Nearly butter smooth gameplay. Without half refreshing , adaptive vsync made GPU usage very low. But half ref made the gpu work at higher clocks.

I'm sure a mixture of both would probably work even better. thumb.gif

OP here says it fixed his stuttering, by doing what I suggested.

The cfg file is in your battlefield 3 main folder.
This is what mine has in it. You can copy the relevant parts if you wish.
So here is my spikes with simply vsync on and no capping.

Here is capped at 59 through the cfg.

Quick question - are you using VSYNC or not? (and if you are, are you using a Nvidia card w/ Adaptive VSYNC?) thinking.gif

Very curious.

Oh half refreshment was a fault. It capped my fps at 30 and I turned back to adaptive vsync. It slightly has a mouse lag I think.
What should I do for this mouse lag?

Very curious.

I have ATI. So I use regular vsync... then cap it through the cfg file I created. I also use triple buffering and I experience no lag what so ever.

Guys when I cap my FPS to 59 trough the config file (60-61-59.95 tried all, only 65 or something works well but micro stutters continue) , I always have screen tearing , no matter if I use Vsync in game or from Nvidia panel.
I also have tearings when I set target fps from Presicion x.
My problem is , when I use adaptive vsync with Nvidia , it becomes amazing , butter smooth. Like watching a film. But... Input lag rises and a little mouse and keyboard lag annoys me.
What can I do for that ?

I remember I had no screen tearing when setting the FPS to 59.9 in AB instead of in-game. Try that if you haven't already.

Well I would look into why vsync isn't working. Since that's obviously what is happening.

Something to note... adaptive vsync WILL TURN OFF when frame rate is below 60. So if that's what you're trying to use, that makes sense that it is turning itself off. That's why it's adaptive. Where it turns it self off below the refresh rate of your monitor.
