Anyone know how to access saved content from steam games that's stored on a secondary hard drive?

Hey guys, its been a while. I have recently bought a 128GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD. So now my hard drive is a secondary storage drive (F:). I can activate steam from SSD (C:) and I am able to play my games that are stored on my HHD, but I found that I cannot play my game saves (game progress). I can find where each game is saved under (F:) but saved content doesn't show when I start steam in my new SSD.

I don't know why this is even a problem, the drive is clearly accessing my games through secondary storage drive (F:), why wouldn't it also access the saved content? Does this mean I have to move my saved content unto my SSD?

Or is it that I have to download GameSave to access my game saves? And if so, does that mean I have to download GameSave on both my SSD and HHD?

Thanks guys in advance.

Some games save in the My Documents folder on your primary drive, if that's the case try copying them over from My Docs on F: to My Docs on the SSD.

YES! It worked!

Thank you.

Apparently steam creates a copy file unto my C: even though the game is installed on F: ...so all I had to do is copy & replace the bioware file from F: (where my saved games are) to my bioware on the C: drive.

Problem Solved. thumb.gif

So let me get this straight, you installed all the games on your mechanical drive. Then you added a SSD and installed Windows on that, and left the other drive intact right? So you moved the save games over from the HDD to your SSD but you're still running the games from your HDD.

So now your saves are showing up but the game crashes?

I think the best thing to do would be to backup your saves and they reinstall the games. If you haven't already make sure you set up Steam to install the games on your HDD (unless you want them on your SSD) through Settings > Downloads + Cloud > Steam Library Folders.

Yes thats about right. I currently keep windows 7 on hhd so I can boot to it to play games.

The games work on hhd. I am just tired of having to reboot to hhd to play games. I think it just have something to do with how the game accesses data.
