You might also want to click on the link in my sig and check out the Crosshair IV Formula/extreme Club. The OP has tons of useful info.

I'd be a little careful going down this route since you want to use 3D.

I have a crosshair IV and recently got several 660ti's so I had to try a few software hacks to get it to SLI.
HyperSLI was the best and extremely easy to install, was running SLI within a few minutes. On a single screen i didn't have any problems, but trying to use surround over 3 screens caused HyperSLI to bug out and frame rate was stuck around 2fps even on the lowest settings.

Can't comment on 3D but being a 'special feature' when compared to normal single screen gaming it may not work flawlessly.

But that aside, a decent 670, or second hand 680 if you can find one cheap enough should be able to do 3D quite respectably without worrying about SLI.

A single Nvidia card should work ok in 3D right with my setup? I'm most likely not going to bother with SLI it was just a thought maybe in the future.

Yeah, a GTX670/680 shall do well in 3D. Just don't go over the top with AA.

Ended up getting the ASUS GTX 660 Ti DirectCU 2GB in replacement to the 6970 as i couldn't really afford a GTX 670, I'm quite pleased with it so far. In 2D gaming runs a little better than the 6970 and with Stereoscopic 3D enabled most of my games I've tested to far run great. Does anyone else have this card here and whats your opinions?
