Thread Starter
I recently purchased my ssd and i am wondering if i leave my user file on the sdd will it hurt it. I don't really save a lot of stuff on my user folder.

I am afraid to do it. What do i exactly take in. Do i move my Whole name over or do i take each folder inside. like pictures, video and so on

ssd is same as a normal HD, just diff internals....i mean if you move the user folder, then shortcuts from desktop prob wont be auto-directed, but anything within will still launch

the files within folder will have their location auto updated in reference to its new location.

old: C:\user\folder\a.exe
new ssd: D:\user\folder\a.exe

You've got to tell the OS where it is. But its fine on a SSD. Unless you're writing GB and GB to it every day it'll last for years and years.

Thanks

If it can't find the file say when i open a exe i will just have to show where it is or delete the old exe and create a new shortcut exe

i have had tons of bad luck and i just don't want to build my new pc and break it thats all

the files in the folder will auto update

shortcuts on desktop will prob need to be edited, or make new ones

I use an m4 for my desktop and haven't moved the user folder. Best reason to move the user folder would be as a backup off the OS drive if you reformat often.
