I'm Annoyed with Windows 8. - Page 3

We have almost identical hardware installed and I'm running Windows 8 Pro. It runs like a dream. Definitely check to see if you have any hardware faults.

Yeah. I love Windows 8 Pro so far. I disabled metro by the program Start8 and downloaded UXThemePatcher to get different themes to make it looks a bit more appealing....Plus Rainmeter makes it so you can have any type of UI you desire smile.gif Now waiting for a program to get Aero back... :/ Anyone know any programs?? but anyway. It is indeed faster and really stable. They only annoying part I had with it was installing .Net Framework 3.5.. had to use command prompt because of "administrator issues".

If you run the upgrade assistant again, let it download everything and then choose to save the ISO file.
Once you have an ISO file, burn it to a blank DVD.
I had the same problem when i upgraded my computer from windows 7, after i did a fresh install everything was fine.
Keep in mind that the operating system has only been out for 2 months, and everything new has glitches.
Not to mention that Microsoft re-designed the whole OS, they didn't just add features to windows 7.

uumm.. no.

the vast majority of code is the same. in fact, the 'under the hood' stuff everyone keeps talking about is mainly about cutting some of the bloat for tablets, the code that's there is a subset of pretty much the same crap code as the stuff in windows 7.

basiclly, yes, they added support for a few new things, removed some bugs (most likely added some), tossed in metro, cut the start button and called it a day.

oh, and they tossed aero as well.

Yep. Hence, "6.2".

It's a shame you haven't got Windows 8 to run on your hardware.

I've got it running on 2 laptops and my desktop all of which work perfectly fine. So obviously you have a problem with your system that Windows 8 doesn't like. I'm yet to install Windows 8 on my 3rd laptop due to it not have 100% driver support yet.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, windows 8 is a great operating system.
Any windows OS will always beat Mac OS

Heres my big issue with Linux.. while things are starting to be more compatible.. ALOT of things are still not compatible with linux OS. Basically everything was compatible on my system when switching from Windows 7 to 8. I do a lot of tasks on my system. Not only am I a heavy gamer but I also record music and everything switched over without an issue.

give me some non-game things that aren't compatible and don't have good alternatives or don't work well in WINE
