GTX 480 SLI and Geforce 210 for 3 monitors - Page 6

I would download driver sweeper and run that then do a clean install with only 1 480 in the computer. When your installing your drivers click advanced and uncheck the hd audio driver, and check the clean install box. After thats all done, and you have the computer functioning with 1 480 on 1 screen, add the second 480 in sli on 1 screen, then start adding your displays.

I just popped in HyperSLI. The only games saved were those on my 2nd SSD via steam. I'm downloading MSI Afterburner so I can monitor SLI usage.
If this doesn't work, I'll give your idea a try Hat

HyperSLI didn't do anything for me. I dropped into BF3 and card 1 went to 95-100% usage and temps spiked, card 2 sat idle. I tried hardware and software.

Update: Had some issues with dotnetfx 3.5 and had to install it via my OS disc. I swear, computers hate me.

Removed card #2; Restart
Uninstalled Drivers; Restart
Drive Swept; Restart
Installed WHQL drivers; restart
Verified Functionality; Powered off
Installed card #2; powered on
Windows requested a restart; restarted (NCP didn't see card #2 but GPU-Z did)
NCP now sees card #2, but SLI is still not an option.

So putting card #2 in PCI-E slot #3 has yielded me positive, yet negative results. Yes, SLI worked. Yes, that probably means I need to RMA my mobo.

Anyone have any suggestions? I moved the setup back to Slot #1 and Slot#2 and SLI doesn't function anymore.

What about win7? Do you have an installer? So you can really find out if its the mobo or not. Coz it doesn't seem to be the cards... dude I'm completely stumped with your case. Can't think of what it could be

****. Well, I got SLI working. But that was by running it in Slot #1 and Slot #3. SLI works just fine. Dropped my cards in slot 1 and 2 and the option is gone. Went back to slot 1 & 3 and SLI works again.

I assume it's a mobo issue. In my attempts to repair I updated to the latest bios.

Any ideas? I really don't want to rip my CHV out and mail it to asus frown.gif

i am completely lost man. the last idea i had was to go win7 juuuuust in case. but like you said it works in slot 1 and 3. what about doing that instead? your cards will run cooler anyway in that config.. you might as well try the triple monitor layout while youre at it...

I am temporarily enjoying the functionality of my SLI, I will however downgrade to Win7 either today or tomorrow to test it there. I really don't want to send my mobo away.

Im assuming you still have your manual? Pages 2-13 and 2-14 have a table showing pcie labels. Which ones do you have your cards in currently? From what you described you have them in the slots they are supposed to be in.

see if the three monitors in surround works now biggrin.gif

3 monitor surround works, but I get bad FPS. Well, I can't play on ultra in BF3 anymore, I have to play on medium.

According to page 2-13 I am using slots "1" and slots "5"

When they are in slot "1" and "3" SLI doesn't work anymore. Which is how I had this set up working before I bought the GeForce 210.

Edit: As my friend brings it up to me, apparently slots 1 and 5 are optimal anyway. Which is PCIe x16_1 & PCIe x16/x8_3
