my gpu core clock goes up and down all the time (gtx 660) - Page 3

Ive tried K-Boost, and it works, Keeps Max boost at constant speed, but i dont wont to rely on 3rd party software.

With MSI Afterburner and manually changing power level, i can get the Power consumption to 120%, but once again i have to rely on a 3rd party software.

I like to keep things clean and try to use the least amount of software as possible. I made a request for KGB bios modding tool to disable boost and keep clocks at max speed at all times during load.

As far as I know (so unless they changed it) you don't have to have Afterburner running. You can make the changes and then even if you don't start it with Windows it'll still keep the changes. It makes them at the driver level, so they stick even without Afterburner running. Same goes for PrecisionX, I'd guess. So you could set it once and forget about it - not as good as a BIOS change, but better than nothing.

I know i can do that. But once again i have to download, install and configure a piece of software....lol. I prefer things to be done at BIOS level, .... you know, like the good old days.

Even CPU's boost and clock speed changes on demand, but its done though BIOS, no 3rd party software is required.

See, this is why i think its a pain the ass.tongue.gif

I'm having a problem with my GTX 660 Ti as well. Even I put 114% power usage in After burner or EVGA Precision, the power % stays around 90%.

I have the Memory clock set at +450 and the core clock at +50Mhz with the core voltage at max.

When I turn the memory and auxilary voltage to max, the power usage jumps to 95%. Any way to fix this?
