[Kotaku] The Good And Bad of Battlefield 3, One Year (Or So) Later - Page 12

As for Battlelog, BC2 had the buggiest server browser in the history of everything. At least Battlelog actually lets me join every time.

You're going to get a lot of people saying that's why Bad Company 2 was considered good, because it was a spin-off. It had more "CoD like" elements (although, I still think both are pretty far from being like CoD at all) yet it's acceptable because it's a spin off and not the main Battlefield series. I even see a lot of people who go on and on about how bad BF3's client-side hit detection is, then go on to say BC2 was a better game when BC2 was far worse in that aspect.

It's still easy to dodge AA missles especially ones launched from the ground in jets. Just FYI to those complaining about it. I've gotten pretty good in the jets and pretty decent at dodging missles but even with this said you still will always want to run with flares.

http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/thomp640/stats/360540414/

proof

Crazy that I've spent 70 hours of my life just in jets in BF3. And that's not even a third of my total playtime.

I've never hit a jet with a stinger yet. Helicopters one in 20 times you will get lucky and they wont flare. It's almost impossible to take an aircraft down with a surface to air missle from an infantryman.

Just because you can throw away handle money better on luxuries doesn't mean everyone else can. I on the other hand have a mortgage, and have to provide for 4 other people along with basic expenses, so $50 is a lot of money to me.

Point proven.

Agreed. I bought BF3 on my PS3 because I knew it would run great on it and I would have more fun with less chance of glitches like most of you guys are complaining about.

DLC overpriced? Nope. Just because something is not in your cheap price range does not mean it is overpriced.

Yes it is. Totally. Me being 18 I find it hard to find respectable gamers. My cousin (9 years old) is also a respectable gamer.

I still love BFBC2 to this day and its my favorite shooter/battlefield game to date.

Agreed. Love BC2, still play it on occasion.

I stopped playing BF3 after Premium, not only was it boring, but they had to make a big slap-to-the-face Premium banner when you were killed, and spam me with Premium notices when I launched the game. Not only that, but Battlelog is a big POS, the game didn't run right on my 6950, the client-side hitting, all the weapons are exactly the same, etc... Overall, I'll see what happens with BC3. If they are going to milk the hell out of it, BF3 will be my last Battlefield purchase.

More reason why I shouldn't get the PC version.
Bold: That ignorance annoys me still. Apologies if you find that insulting.

DICE never actually said that. They said they would never charge for map packs and being that DICE hasn't released any map packs for BF3, they've technically kept their word.

They are pretty much full expansion packs, just what we have seen with BF1942 expansion packs. I don't know why everyone is complaining for something that has already been done. Cheapskates...

I've never really had any trouble with the client side hit detection. Maybe that's because I play on US servers w/ < 70 ping.
I have had times where I ducked behind cover, then died, but thats just teh internet man.

The only thing that really bugs me about the game were some of the vanilla maps.
Tehran, Bazaar, and Seine Crossing had the lowest map ceiling of any of the maps and it made the level very bottlenecked and flat. boring imo. gimmie dose multi-story buildings with destruction
Worse off, there were other levels that included the giant crane but deleted the ladders from them, i mean wth.
People just end up stealing aircraft and ditching them just to get to a perch and camp out of reach. (ex. construction site on Gulf of Oman)
Fortunately most of the AK and AM maps are decent in those respects;
plenty of places for a sniper to perch up, but none out of reach for any infantry to go for some stabbin :-D

Played CQ for about 10 minutes. thought it was lame and never played again. if I want to run around firing rpgs close range ill go play halo or cod.

I am still playing the preimum AK and AM maps tho, I like just about all of them.
they'll probably keep me hooked for a few more months, especially thru the holidays

I have no clue what people are grieving about with NVIDIA and BF3.
I played up until last week on a 9800 GT with only 512 MB and it played fine.
it's much prettier now on a 7850 OC but thats the only diff on my end.

Counter-Strike: Source is still the best game to date! tongue.gif

I LOVED BF:BC2 and was quite disappointed with BF3. Don't get me wrong, its a fun game, but all the glitches really put me off. I haven't played it in a few months, but I do look forward to jumping back on it to see what has changed.

Aside from the glitches, it was pretty fun and easy to get the hang of. I plan to buy Premium soon, as well. Just waiting on a new video card. thumb.gif

Overrating CSS will not make it the best shooter. It still does not touch BF1942.
From my experience, the Bad Company series have been riddled with glitches. I have not really noticed any game changing glitches in BF3 for me. Only glitches being audio glitches. Then again, this is the PS3 version.
