you know what bf3 was a real step down in one way?

team work.
NO voip

NO mod tools

NO Project reality

BF is dead to me in the same way that MOH is, there former shells of what they originally set out to be, that have been made into money making corporate hyped BS.

I don't even get the point of MOH now days, its basically BF3 with out vehicles? Why do you even try EA, oh wait you don't you just want to make money nothing else.
If your play this on a console your getting 1/2 the game
post #154 of 308
There are tons of bugs and hackers. But besides that sniper scope glint broke sniping, along with red triangles on minimap....... I can understand for vehicles maybe but for infantry it makes me feel like Im playing starcraft and watching the minimap rather than actually playing a fps. The DLC is pretty insane too, its like another $50 for some guns and maps, LOL, no thx. I regret even buying it and am having a blast on quake live atm. And just so i dont seem like I hater I really liked BC2

Also gonna try tribes.

Ah, so you're 18? Well please explain to me the responsibilities you mentioned previously... do you have a wife and kids? Do you have elderly parents to look after? Do you own a house? Do you even rent? Do you have car, natural gas, electricity, tax, car insurance, life insurance, benefits, cell, tv, internet, car repairs, gas bills to pay?

I highly doubt it. Come back to me in 10 years when you actually have responsibilities, then you'll have the right to talk about luxuries and $50 DLC packs.

What ignorance? It's fact. They've nerfed all the guns to the point there is virtually little to no difference between most of them.

Why do I have to move on to anything when there are still active BF2 servers??? I'd rather stick to that game since it has more features and isn't trying to compete with another franchise by dumbing down the formula that's made the series.

Being a veteran of the series, I do not understand why BF2 is overrated by BF players so much. It's like they never even touched BF1942 or BF Vietnam which both have more features than BF2. BF3 is a very nice improvement over BF2.

Why should spotting happen automatically? Why regenerating health? Why no commander? All three dumb down the experience so that a different tier of gamers are reached. I don't know why they couldn't at least have a switch so that some servers could use or not use certain features.

And really there is not that much lost from the lack of the commander. It was something uniquish I suppose but having a dedicated map watcher seems silly to me in a game about fast paced action shooting people in the face. Makes much more sense to me to have a position like that in a game like Planetside 2 where the actual goal is territory control on a large scale. Conquest with 5-8 points I just don't think needs it personally.

BC2 isn't that great. Only time I kinda enjoyed it was when my squad actually acted like a squad and we'd work together. Still, the game felt chunky and "off", hard to explain. I enjoyed it for a bit. As for your bit about fast paced action...see, BF2 was riding the line between something like COD and ArmA...it wasn't just about fast paced action, there were tactics and teamwork aspects in the past that didn't meant it wasn't just about "fast paced action shooting".

You know, if they'd just allowed mod tools and mod servers, it could have been a great game. I'm sure some of the die-hard 1942/BF2 fans would have made some total conversions.

Origin lost my account info and now my account got moved to an unknown user. I called and gave them all my billing information from the freakin receipt that they sent me "This isn't the right information, sorry". So now I don't have a BF3 account anymore same thing happened to BC2. I don't know what the **** went wrong but I'm pissed and now I have to dig through credit card bills to prove to them I bought that CD key.

Yeah, the teamwork being a soul part of BF3 is really a step down. I hate working with people and BF3 pretty much forces me to do so! (FYI, BF3 has more teamwork in it than a lot of shooters, including BF2. I hate the fallacy.)

Yeah, the 1/2 that has less glitches, has VOIP, apparently has more teamwork than the PC version as you guys complain about teamwork all the time.
So yeah, I'll enjoy my superior half.

Wife? No. GF? Yes. Kids? Not yet. Elderly parents to look after? Never will, I may be a nice person, but I am not going to sign my life away, or I would join the French Foreign Legion if I wanted to sign my life away.
Own a house? No. Rent? Yes. Car? Yes. Car insurance? Yes. Benefits? Yes. Internet, TV and phone is shared.
They did not nerf the guns. If they did, they only did it on the PC version.

1: To make the game more fluent. That's a few extra seconds that you would have been spotting to actually dodge and get to cover.
2: Agreed. Though being a 0% health and still barely alive is funny.
3: No point.

Bold: BF2 statistically has less features. BF1942 has way more features than BF2, you should go play that. Or BFVietnam which has more features than any other Battlefield game. BF3 is not competing with another franchise. Stop confusing MOH with BF.

hahaha...sure it isn't. The constant high priced DLC isn't evidence of that at all! They never did any marketing to win the COD crowd over..none at all ever!

BF3 does not 'have more teamwork' than BF2. My friend likes to run and gun, in BF2 he gets slaughtered by squads if he goes without me and our friends. In BF3(unless it's changed a ton after the first 6 months), he could go off on his own and never had to worry if his squad was with him.

I'm not sure how you can argue for auto-spotting. Part of the challenge is being able to spot on the fly to give your team a momentary advantage. Everyone spotting everyone is just a crutch.

Why is there no point to commander? When you have decent players in the role, the games can be fantastic.
