Different game. That is no where near BF2.

It was the console version since it couldn't keep up with PC BF2. It was as close to BF2 as consoles could make it on PS2 and the original XBox. The 360 re-release in '06 offered a little better all around, but still no PC comparison.

Still, it was BF2.

Maybe in the future they'll incorporate speech recognition and you can spot things by yelling at your PC.
You typed LMAO, and your lack of knowledge of BF2 on the consoles maybe speaks to your age? The generation I come from, and game with avoids shooters like BF3 and COD. We had fun with SOFII, but mostly for the gore and ridiculousness. Seriously though, you've got a great attitude toward people.
A populated server does not imply a GOOD server.
DLC to me, is not the same as expansion packs once were. It feels like every other week we hear of new DLC for a game.

What generation is that exactly? It's not important, but I'm just curious. I think the generation you grew up with is less important than the specific group of people you grew up with. I don't see what's so hard about simply enjoying games for what they are. I've enjoyed most Battlefield games for very different reasons. I understand preference, but i never understood why so much hate is put towards the games you don't prefer.

That doesn't change the fact that BF3's DLC is no different than past expansions in the Battlefield series.

I got BFVietnam with the BF1942 Complete collection and played more of BFVietnam than any other game. I got BF3 a few days ago and it is fantastic. I borrowed BC1&2, played the MP of both, it was decent, reminded me of CODMW.
DLC, regardless of mine and your beliefs are expansions for games. COD is a decent series. I prefer TreyArch's ones though.
128 player servers are not the good servers? Your opinions are funny.

There was Modern Combat, which I'm surprised people don't bring up when talking about the worst Battlefield games, rather than BF3.. which is FAR superior of a game.

You are coming off as a little rude about your opinions of others' opinions. Just saying..

You play on modded servers, doesn't mean they're good and competitive, does it? You're quite the friendly fellow.

It's BF2 for the consoles. But wait, your opinion is all that matters, so maybe the wiki page is wrong.

So, wait, you got BF2 when you were 11, and 1942 when you were 9? uh...

It's not my opinion. It is fact, whether you agree with facts or not. If the wiki page is wrong, then I am also wrong, because the wiki page supports my statements 100%. BF2MC is no where near BF2 in terms of gameplay. That is like saying BC2 and BF3 are the same game. Or GT5 and GTHD are the same game.
And yeah, I also got Daggerfall when I was 6 and it took me 2 years to complete.

Edit: MOH SP and MOH MP are the same too, right?

I've not been shot behind cover when already there but sometimes bullets follow around walls or objects.

The age thing is actually a big part of why games are on a decline as far as quality and depth go anymore. I'm 26 and grew up with the NES, SNES, and beyond... even a Virtual Boy (possibly the cause for me horrible eyes frown.gif ). Growing up with the golden age of gaming, i've been able to see where it all comes from. Gamers even a half-generation before me with the Atari, Amiga, etc (which i also played) can recognize the same thing. Current teens and younger are growing up with a feeling of entitlement having been inundated with a plethora of games and variety of consoles and PC as a viable main gaming platform as well. Earlier generations has 1 option, then 2 when Sega came... and Sony into the fray there after. Anymore, people just don't appreciate what they've got.

BF2: Modern Combat was not like BF2 for PC, but it was the closest parallel they could come up with. I'm sure gamers in '05 without a PC were grateful since all they would hear about from PC gamers is how awesome it was and the rise of the PC Master Race, etc etc... I'm just now getting a Wii ($35 from some guy on CL) and am very grateful for it and love the games I have so far. Graphics are ok, and the games are hard compared to just pressing buttons with your thumbs... you're up all bouncing around and moving all over the place.

Thought he BF3 DLC may be disappointing to many, myself included, I'm still grateful they're trying something. Would tossing even MORE guns into the mix really help? With people on every side complaining about balance, shouldn't we just be happy they're trying to listen and balance? Cut the devs some slack... i'd put money that 90% of people here have absolutely NO idea how hard the environment they're working in really is. Even post-release with updates and balancing, it can get demanding. US complaining, and sometimes harassing them certainly doesn't help.

I liked run and gun shooters like SOFII, and the Duke Nukem 3d, but they lost their appeal when I got older. That's personal preference, I admit. What I meant about 'generations', is that If I look at my cousins, and their friends, they all love the COD franchise, but can't stand games like L4D, or BF2, where they would have to work with me. They'd all prefer to play TDM/DM where they don't have to worry about teammates or squads, etc. This is the type of gamer that BFC2, and then BF3 have attempted to cater towards. At least that's how I see the removal/modification of some key features from previous games.

I don't dislike that generation, or rather, that group that just wants fast paced shooters, my tastes just differ. I think I should be more frustrated with DICE though, with their bowing to EA for some features, and playing with the formula of their previous efforts. I still have faith they can recreate that old recipe, and I'm perfectly content being patient.
