Sounds to me like you have found the limit for your CPU/Stepping. However that is an Awesome Overclock so weldone.

Check here also and make a post so i can add your OC :http://www.overclock.net/amd-cpus/12...ngle-core.html

it passed at 2.85ghz on super pi.... I'll try upping it to 2.9ghz and testing it at that

super pi failed at 2.9GHz ... I'll try upping the voltage and if that doesn't work, i guess I'll test 2.85GHz on OCCT

Well, it might please you to know that I've just hit 2.9GHz 2xsuper PI (32M digits) stable using 1.58 voltage (1.525 x a 104% special control)!

I guess it just needed a little voltage

Yeah, having went through the whole process without much knowledge, I guess I might as well pass it on...

Just remember to find the cpu's max fsb (i posted on it earlier) first then work your settings and timings around that... thats basically what I screwed up on

Also three guides you should look at:
http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20823
http://forums.extremeoverclocking.co...d.php?t=170999
http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=67768

the first is just a DFI overclocking toturial... though you probably already know what to do from reading about what i went through (explains alot of the lanparty
the second explains all the timings and proper settings for them (very helpful since dfi lanparties offer so many options and you generally don't know what half of them mean)
the last is about a few different stability tests and how to run them properly on a dual core processor (quite helpful)

tried for 2.95GHz, but it failed super pi and the temps are getting a little high

I tried Orthos on 2.9GHz but it failed after 37 minutes 37 seconds... it was running between 54-58C... is it probably heat related? should I drop the vcore (currently 1.58v)down and test it? I think 2.9 is probably the highest this thing will go (but the lowest I want it to run... was hoping for 2.9-3GHz )
