I really have no clue as to what cooler I would need. There are SO many that look like they would do a good job on PriceSpy.
List: http://pricespy.co.nz/category.php?l=s105208671&cols=1105,4319,412&o=produkt_pris_inkmoms#rparams=l=s105208739

After all, first time building PC, only ever had laptops. My only experience is upgrading friend's PCs etc so I will know how to wire it all up.

Can you afford this?.. it's the cheapest good cooler I could find there.

This one is better and its cheaper http://www.techworld.co.nz/cooler-master-hyper-universal-cooler-intelamd-p-40858.html
I have worked with it before the only problem i have with it is that the mounting system is very annoying otherwise its a pretty good cooler for a good price

Being better than the stock cooler is not something to brag about really... a well hammered piece of copper pipe is better than the stock cooler... the 212 (in all its iterations) it's a cheap, over hyped, bottom of the barrel solution... if you're gonna' get an after market cooler you might as well get a decent one. I too have worked with a some 212s, they make good trowing pieces. smile.gif

The number of worthwhile HDT coolers on the market can be counted on the fingers of one hand... the 212 isn't one of them (unless you get it for free, as a bundle deal or something).... the Tuniq Tower 120 Extreme is one of those worth buying (when cheap enough, such as in this case).

ps. you'll have to excuse the manner of my previous reply (or lack of it)... I'm allergic to 212s, I get homicidal when faces with such suggestions/recommendations.

That Tuniq CPU cooler seems to have great reviews. It looks big though, it gonna fit in a MicroATX?

I don't plan on getting a cooler immediately, I will just use the stock. I will not overclock until I get a proper cooler. I assume it is fine, but what is your opinion on the effectiveness of the stock cooler for stock speeds?

I have changed power supplies over and over (in the parts list) and have settled on FSP Group Raider 750W for $105. It has good reviews and puts out the full wattage it specifies and the 750W is only $8 more than the 650W here so I might s well have even more leeway.

Also, I have changed from the Gigabyte HD7970 with the 3 fans and factory overclock to the Sapphire reference design. This saved $50. Was it worth it? Is the reference cooler capable of overclock on the GPU?

Thanks for all the help.

Stock cooling works just fine until you plan to overclock.

Also. I plan on getting a 60GB Intel 330 SATA3 SSD and a WD 7200rpm 1TB HDD. I planned on installing windows and apps on the SSD and big games on the HDD. However, I noticed that Intel Smart Response Technology but am a little confused about how effective it is in comparison to just installing OS and web browser etc on the SSD and everything else on the HDD.
