looking for sata power cables / have 12 ssd's and need simple solution

Thread Starter
I currently have 8 SSD, but plan to get 4 more to finish out the card.... I also have 4 other hard dives and maybe 1 cd rom if I choose....

I need a good solution for power cord management

I have a seasonic 650 or 700 watt power supply and am not able to find a place to order additional connectors for it
I have a 3 or 4 slots left... and that could solve my problem....

I don't really like the way their cables plug into my drives, instead of all the connectors being on the same cable... I would rather have 4 cables that split into 3 connections each - is there anywhere online that has these ready to order?

thanks!

Finally I found something....
http://www.moddiy.com/products/Single-Braid-Sleeved-SATA-Power-Cable-(40CM,-1x-Molex-to-5x-SATA).html?gclid=CPjcucaBkbQCFQqe4AodYBMA7Q#.UMZzIYPAdKJ

this design might not work exactly right.... but this is the kind of stuff i am looking for

I'm in the same boat as you. I use the 1 Molex to 2 SATA and it makes a huge mess in the case.

The link you posted is NICE, but...pricey.

Make your own in custom lengths?

If you want good cable management.... just run all the SSDs off one cable. You can mod your existing cable by adding on "punch-down SATA power plugs".
Once again...

Or if you are feeling lazy I found some cheaper solutions for you...

1 x 4pin molex ----> 4 x 15pin sata

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?seq=1&format=2&p_id=8794&CAWELAID=1329457128&cagpspn=pla&gclid=COv40crZkrQCFUeRPAodswQALQ

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sibrmotofosa.html

http://compare.ebay.com/like/251150505177?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar#

and here is just a straight up sata cable multiplier... (no molex required)

http://www.costcentral.com/proddetail/StarTechcom_4x_SATA_Power_Splitter_Adapter_Cable/PYO4SATA/11678311/ (changed link. this place has cheaper shipping and was $20.27 shipped for 3 cables)

Let me know how those cheap little boogers work out. I think I might order 3 of the startech cables from the cost central link above. As I think they will be more useful for when power supplies stop coming with molex cables.
