And what do you think dwm actually uses?
Here I tell you what, start GPUz (with aero/dwm working). Take note of Memory Usage. Then disable DWM (you can also use the high contrast theme). Take note of the vram reduction.
It appears that this message pops up when dwm is beyond 70K (while gaming). I've seen it more so in 32bit then in 64 bit win7. So the best thing to do, as was already suggested, is to disable desktop Composition and Visual Themes for the games you play.
I have a better way to try this.
-Find Desktop Window Manager Session Manager and highlight it (don't open it)
-In the upper left corner of the Services Window you will see Start and Stop the service. Select the option to stop the service.
-With GPUz already opened and tabbed to Sensors take note of the Memory Usage. It may take a few seconds to see the change.Edited by EastCoast - 12/12/12 at 4:52pm
