BT to Reserator 2 = big difference??

I'm wondering about going watercooled..!
ATM I got a E6600 @ 3.6GHz with a Big Typhoon on it! And the temps are ok!

I'm not looking into overclocking further... What I want is a quiet system!

So, what I wonder is...:
If I buy a Zalman Reserator 2... Will it be a temp drop, a temp gain, or about the same temps???
*If I buy it, I will use it to cool my E6600 and my 7950GT*

What do you all think?

(And yes, I know that all of you want me to go cusom... lol But I dont think I got the space for it... I got a Lian-Li PCV1100 case)

Get a higher CFM fan for the BT, lap the base, and get some copper RAMsinks on the bottem and it should cool about the same..

Whats "lap"?

Btw: a higher CFM fan means more noise...
I want LESS noise!

What are the specs on the fan you are using now? What are your CPU temps? You maybe able to find a quieter fan and lower the RPMs. Your CPU temps might increase a tiny bit but that should affect performance or overclocking.

Lapping is using sandpaper to smooth out the base of the heatsink and thermal spreader on the CPU. It creates better surfaces so heat is transfered from the CPU to HS more effectively. You can just lap your HS to begin.
Once again...

That would not be worth the extrea cost better to get a better fan on the bt or a higher end kit or build it yourself

I'm using the stock fan that followed with the BT...
I'm at 60 degrees now...
If I get a more quiet fan that has less CFM, then the temp will increse.. And now I'm at max temp...

I would just pay the $20 for a high quality, low noise, fan. Water cooling has horrible price to performance ratio.

I would stick with high end air over the Zalman.. as has been pointed out try lapping, it may help some.A good custom kit will lower you temp's a lot better..Info: Want To Lap Your P4's or A64's IHS? (also applies to heatsinks & water blocks) - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net
