I now have 229mhz x 12 = 3.2ghz. Still testing it out on orthos and i could even maybe go further down on the voltage or go up a bit on the mhz.

I now have no idea what to do about the ram, and mobo speeds/settings... Could you guys give me a hand here?

Thanks

Ht Link speeds should be kept between 1800-2200mhz. Increasing HT speeds doesn't increase performance. Lowering it increases stability. The cpu nb frequency helps alot. Around 2600mhz would be the sweet spot but for that you would have to increase the voltage in the bios of cpu nb to around 1.26v.

HiWhySarx biggrin.gif

I am also new to overclocking and i have learned a lot thanks to these guys on the forum biggrin.gif

I find this guide to explain stuff the best about Explaining the HT and NB along with the general overclocking tutorial for Phenoms!
I also have a Phenom currently overclocking it as i write this wink.gif First things i learned was getting to know my own Bios and my Motherboards specs capabilities, together with the first basics on increasing the Vcore and limits of the voltages and such.

Anyways im sure u wil figure it out by spending time reading allong on this forum thumb.gif

Through the bios and if you want to check for the default voltage of your ram download cpu z if you don't have it already.

OK.

Right now i've the following (tested it on orthos 1h):

CPU:
Clock: 243mhz
Multiplier: x14
3.4GHZ total
Voltage: 1.36875v
Temps after 1h prime cpu: 33º

RAM:

667mhz bios (810mhz real)
Timings on DCT01 and DCT02: 8-8-8-20
Auto voltage

I think i can still lower my voltage a little but i want to have a margin. Anyway, when i go to sleep, ill leave orthos on for 8h.

What do you guys think i should change/comes next? Havent changed any mobo/nt/ht valor cause i had no idea how to do so biggrin.gif

Thank you

I ran Orthos on Blend mode(stress cpu and ram) while using everest burn test for cpu and ram and downloading torrents for 8h. The pc was stable after all that.

I got a maximum temperature of 38º with an average of 35.5

What should i do/change next?

Thank you

EDIT: forgot to ask... Were the tests i made pushing the cpu to its max or will games push it harder thus making the cpu hotter? (i know that if the gpu is also on that will generate more heat on the box but i just want to test cpu.)

That's a nice cooler you have there smile.gif

If your OC is stable, try to OC higher. Your temps are great, so keep going. Have you messed with the CPU-NB yet?

I got the cpu to 38º while stressing it out with orthos and everest.

I have no idea how to change cpu-nb and other stuff like ram voltage. For the ram, i saw people with my oc'd ram running "1600 8-8-8 1T @ 1.6v" but im scared of changing the voltage because i saw somewhere that the working voltage is 1.5v and as i dont have any sensors on the ram....

As for the mobo changes... I've read some things but im still not sure what to do number wise. Would appreciate a little help here.

Thanks guys
