It won't stress the memory controller as much, so maybe.

Haha thanks I'm just having fun with it. It's my first time overclocking so just testing everything out. Did some small tests on 4.6 and 4.7 as well tongue.gif

I test my overclocks with AIDA64 and Prime95 using all available ram for 24-36 hours. Overclock has yet to fail me and I put it through games, video editing, and basic computing tasks thumb.gif

I used AIDA64 to monitor temps and here are my temperatures an hour into Prime95 and it doesn't change much in a 24 hour run. This is also with my ram voltage at 1.694. With the ram at stock, the core temperatures are lower. And please don't say ram voltage doesn't affect temperatures thumb.gif

I don't get it different times when I boot up my comp and run prime it either runs with the voltage above or 1.144 as posted before or 1.152. Anyone have any ideas as to why?

Is it common for the comp to freeze while running prime95 and attempting to browse? It does say to not do anything else... Could it be a memory problem?
Thanks guys

Voltage monitoring chips that CPU-Z reads are typically only accurate to +/- 0.008 volts. Some random variation by exactly 0.008 volts is not unusual.

Your voltage for your cpu is lower than anyone else on the planet or close to that. smile.gif

Don't be afraid to give it a little more. If your system is 100% stable, you should have no problem running Prime 95 and still be able to surf the net without any lock ups.

I have my 3570k at 4.8 with 1.35 vcore and an h100 for cooling. I use folding to stress test and not prime and its been folding 24/7 since the end of August. It averages 60-65C but peaks at 70C with more stressful units

What cooling do you use?
