Don't expect every Intel owner to make the switch to 1150.

And the i5's need HT, why would they remove that feature? Is this because they have 4 physical core instead of 2? Meh, I'll pass on this if those are the features you get for that TDP
When have i5's ever had HT?

For the mobile CPUs. For desktop CPUs, I never recall any i5s w/HT.

I really wish Intel would standardize their naming conventions.

It should be like this:

Celeron = 1 core, 1 core + HT (Oddly the existance of dual core Celerons doesnt bother me, mostly because noone expects decent performance from these)
Pentium = 2 cores
i3 = 2 cores + HT
i5 = 4 cores
i7 = 4 cores + HT
i9 = 6 cores + HT (Always seemed odd labelling the hexcore's as i7)

For naming purposes forget taking into account things like 'turbo', cache size, or virtualization. They could address this in the model number.

I really hate it in the mobile space when I see an i5 or i7 with 2 cores.

Yes, because higher Hz = faster CPU. Go get a 5Ghz Pentium 3 and pit it up against a 3.XGhz i3.

No, not necessarily innovate. Change socket. Don't change my words trying to sound clever. It's expensive and probably not really required EVERY CPU generation.

Thank you for proving my point.

My M11X has an i7 that's only dual-core. The new Pentiums and i3s are faster than my i7. Even the desktop i3's from the same generation were faster.

APU's are great for HTPC's and decent gaming Laptops.

Not to mention 98.6% of all the business desktops out there.
