84W TDP... earlier slides/leaks said 95W TDP.

Less than a month to CES... Intel, Asus. Gigabyte, AMD and Nvidia are listed as exhibitors so we should be getting some info/pics of the upcoming Haswell processors/Z87 motherboardss as well as the GTX 780 and HD8970.

That being said, it looks like there really isn't much of a reason to upgrade from sandy or ivy as long as you aren't using integrated graphics.

C2 stepping SB-E chips have VT-D

Ah. If I had more thoroughly read the intel spec sheet I would have seen that.

Either way, for the mainstream line, the k-series doesn't support it.

Haswell is an improvement of Ivy, those specs seem in line of what to expect, I'd wait and see IPC improvement before deciding if you are impressed or not biggrin.gif

Haswell should be a microarchitecture update on Sandy/Ivy.

Intel's own tests put it at 15% better IPC over Ivy Bridge in general computing workloads. It'll obviously be higher for specilized software that can take advantage of AVX2
