I said "major." I strongly suggest that you go learn what the word means before you go making a fool of yourself.

The difference between Llano and Trinity's on die northbridges are rather minimal compared to Bulldozer/Piledriver. Bits and scraps of integrated IO. Real "major"...

Except that's not the issue at all. Simple physics + Intel's trigate transistors = minimal improvement. Mostly the latter in this case.

Intel intentionally picked trigate despite its subpar performance at higher frequencies.

Not in the real world. If you had been paying attention to anything the past 6 years, you'd understand that the focus is no longer on increasing performance.

5-15% in existing applications. Generally higher if it's the application has been compiled with support for TSX and AVX2.

If you're thinking about upgrading you'd probably be better off waiting. Then you can get Haswell and a Socket 1150 motherboard while it's fresh. If your going LGA 1155 right now you're practically investing in a dying socket that will be phased out in a matter of months.

Very true, I guess but the wait is so hard. :[

This is a thread about Haswell... not Ivy Bridge vs Piledriver.

Keep it on topic, you guys.
