They are reaching out to gamers and allowing as many as possible to play their games in hopes of building up a fan base to purchase future products. For whatever personal reasons, people pass up on many games. When a game is all but free however, gamers tend to try it out and may decide they love it. It is the same philosophy of musicians giving away their music on their websites or seeding torrents for their albums.

Exactly. ^

Never tried either of the Metros but, with a free copy to try...if I like 2033 I'll buy Last Light. Not familiar with THQ (I do know they are having financial trouble here lately though) but, if they make quality content, I'm down. This is a good way to give people a chance to try out the series.

I honestly can't see how any one could not like it...perhaps not love it...but no way any one could play it for an hour and think, "Damn, what a waste of time"

The only bad thing I have to say is that they hard coded a lot in the game...so there is little opportunity to mod the game. Plus it is a very linear game so there isn't a lot of replay value. I played it twice so I could see the alternative ending and I think it will be a long time before I see it installed on my hard drive again.

but I think I've read that THQ has had some money issues as of late...so even getting a $1 for a bundle of games or a like on face book is worth a game key to them right now.

Bought my copy earlier this year, well worth more than I paid for it. For free it's a no brainer. The game also runs nicely in Linux under Wine for those who may wonder about such things...

Good deal, tbh. Game wasn't half bad (even though I never finished haha).

Should probably install it again, lol.
