I have the m4a87td evo and the Corsair H80. What do I do about the backplate?

The h80 uses the stock clips on the mboard.

You have to remove the intel mounting hardware form the H80 and attatch the AMD one. Form there it just uses the supplied mounting screws and the AMD hook-type things to screw on. It is also outlined in the manual.
