I was thinking 1 or 2 gb ram, maybe anywhere from a 250-400 gb hard drive, and in general I want to be able to run games really well at 1280x 768, I'm looking into getting a 15-20" monitor after awhile, and I might get the resolution a bit higher, but I'd be fine running at that res.

Will do man. I really wish we got better deals on some things, but becasue MC is a much smaller corp. than say best buy, they have to pay more for the items we sell, which in turn makes our discounts less...

But it's nice as it is...we get 360 Premium for 299 hehehehehe

15", and lower quality 17" LCDs are maxed at 1024x768. 19" and good 17" are maxed at 1280x1024. 20.1" LCDs and higher are 1600x1200. 2gb of ram should be your minimum if you plan to play games.

P.S. how much are your high quality DVI cables?

dunno, I haven't gotten paid yet so I can't buy ANYTHING.

Blech two more weeks till my paycheck.

Thanks for the monitor info, looks like I might go with a 19", thats plenty large enough. Really the outrageously oversized monitors are cool, but for my personal use I don't want anything larger than a 19".

As far as ram goes, I'll prolly upgrade to 4 gb's eventually since the mobo can take it, I just don't have the money to get 4 1gb Firestix.

Best Buy has no good deal on computer parts. It is not a company built on computer parts. I'm building my rig right now and I haven't bought a single thing from BB.

Ok, so I think I'll go with the centurion...not really wanting to spend 180 on a comp case.

What do you guys think of the COOLMAX and POWMAX cases on newegg?

I'm gonna take a premptive guess and say they suck, but hopefully I'll be completely wrong.
