Toshiba C855 + Windows 8 Pre-Installed + UEFI + SSD = ????????

Ok, so I've got a Toshiba Satellite C855-S5343. It came with a standard 500GB HDD with Windows 8 pre-installed. I have a new OCZ Vertex 3 90GB that I want to do a fresh install on and replace the existing HDD. There is no Windows 8 key located on the laptop, which from some research means that it has the product key embedded into the BIOS chip.

I can not get the BIOS to come up with the blank SSD in the laptop, only with the original HDD. How do I go about getting Windows 8 installed using my existing key on the new SSD? I don't want to create a Toshiba recovery disk if at all possible, because I want the install to be free of bloat, I can install drivers myself. If I could get the key, I could download the Windows 8 ISO from Microsoft, and assuming everything goes as I've read, during the install the embedded key will be read into the installer when it asks for the product key automatically, but even then, how do I boot to the installation media without the original HDD in the laptop?

I've been racking my brain over this for a while now, but I currently don't have the laptop in front of me to try any of my ideas (it's for my friend's sister and is at work right now). Any solutions to try when I get back up there? I've done this many times with non-UEFI BIOS and Windows 7/8 in the past, but not on the new laptops/computers that come with Windows 8 pre-installed and no product key on the case.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Well I figured it out. I don't know why it wouldn't go into the BIOS before, but after re-installing the SSD, I was able to get into the BIOS. It was very picky about the installation media, but I finally got it to boot from the DVD rom and it loaded up the OS just fine, automatically detected the product key from the BIOS (the OS was activated when I got into it).

Everything is now running great, bloat free. Just giving an update for anyone who may search in the future.
