Putting words in my mouth is about as worthless to me as it is reading through nearly 200 posts worth of fanboy drivel.
I just bought a $300 video card because I wanted to, not because I feel like I have to settle some personal vendetta that people in this thread have suddenly decided that they're going to have because Tech Report found something that doesn't add up in your minds. Do you feel me on this? Trust me... I did not get this card to be famous, popular, or to appease ANYONE in this thread. I got it because I wanted to get it and because my current 5870 is starting to age. I've been with AMD for the last 3 generations, and now, I think it's time for a change.
By the way, I was with nvidia for EVERY generation before I got my wife an HD 4870, so don't give me that crap about being biased or a fanboy. I will make an impartial decision based on experience once I received the card. If the 660 Ti is smoother, I will notice it. If it isn't, I will notice that too... and trust me, I will post results one way or another. thumb.gif

Believe me when I say this, my first 2 words were "No Offence", and I meant those.

I was pointing out that I'm familiar with your posting patterns for the past year, so yeah. Don't look too much into it, I wasn't trying to offend you.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, and look forward to your results. thumb.gif

Vsync off.
Here's the one with Adaptive Vsync on from last night. Same settings but different place though.

that is so smooth as it gets...

You guys need to standardize your testing. Just because it's the same game, doesn't mean its comparable because scores can vary wildly between scenes. Here's a heaven benchmark with my sig rig (GTX 670). Note the scale. It's quite good smooth. Someone got a 7950 they can test with?

Well, I don't think there is any way we are going to be able to do anything approaching a scientific study of this given everyone's different configs. I just posted that as a rough comparison.

What are you using to bench frame times / create those graphs?

I don't mind doing it but it won't be until tomorrow; I am already counting sheep.

Of course, not even professional reviews by reputable sites would pass peer review, but there's a difference between complete and just being accurate. As an example, scenes in heaven vary by as much as 200% so it would be pointless to compare heaven benchmarks without specifying scenes.

You can use FRAPS.

Well, the frametimes themselves are going to change, but I don't know if the latency/spikiness is going to change much. Worth a shot though. For what it's worth, here's Sleeping Dogs running around town then jacking a motorcycle and driving around. Gets jumpier once I was on the motorcycle.

As an aside, anyone know how to change the axis on that Frafs program? Sometimes it is 50ms and sometimes it is 500ms, or anything in between. Makes it hard to visually compare anything unless there is a way to standardize.

.

Edit: Heh, making charts is fun. Here's Just Cause 2. Pretty smooth.

What were your actual settings? Here's a run at 1080p, 8xMSAA, 16xAF, and Extreme Tessellation (everything else max also). It always felt choppy to me, now I see why.

A lot faster without tessellation, but still choppy.
