Need to buy a modem!

Thread Starter
So I would like to buy a modem instead of paying Comcast every month to rent theirs.

I currently have their newest one they just sent me..

Arris TM822G

http://www.arrisi.com/products/_docs/TM822G_PF_13JUN11.pdf

That has the specs on it and everything.

I don't know much about modems so what is on the market to buy that is as good as that or better?

Thank you for your help!

I'm assuming you have Comcast Digital Voice? Sadly you can't just get any eMTA modem. You'll have to get one from Best Buy, what particular modems they have will depend on the Best Buy location

That doesn't sound right.

If JustinDD doesn't have phone service then there are many DOCSIS 3 modem choices. However if he does, like I do, he is very limited on what he can purchase. Best Buy may have the 722 but it seems their deal with Comcast is fading away. I've read that Comcast may start selling eMTAs on Amazon
