Problem with installing windows 8 on hp envy 15 4830m

Hey guys after hours of frustration I thought I would come and see if you guys could help me out a bit. I have the first gen Hp-Envy 15 which has a 4830m and runs windows 7 flawlessly. I got windows 8 a few weeks ago and just got around to trying to install it. Everything goes well until the laptop restarts to finish the installation. Windows 8 will start "getting the devices ready" and around 80% the computer will bluescreen which interrupts the installation and forces you to start all over again.

Googling this problem I realized it has to do with Windows 8 installing the wrong drivers or something for the 4830m. I have read dozens of threads but no one has been able to come up with a full proof way of installing windows 8. I would hope HP or AMD would come out and fix this but I am fairly certain they aren't supporting this laptop since it is not being manufactured anymore.

Any help would be immensely appreciated. Thankyou.

Is it connected to the internet?
I'm pretty sure windows 8 has to download the drivers to install them, so try disconnecting the internet from the computer before installing.

I s

I should I have been more specific. I don't think its necessarily installing drivers but whatever its doing during "getting devices ready" is what causes the bluescreen.

Is it a traditional blue screen with the 0x000000000 error code at the bottom, or is it the windows 8 blue screen with frown.gif on it?
If it shows and error code, tell us because those mean something

It is the Windows 8 Blue screen with the frowny face. Most of the time the bluescreen lists a "Clock watchdog timeout" error.

It gives me that error when there is a problem with my processor, usually not enough voltage after overclocking.
However, since your computer is store bought; You would think that issue would be out of the question.
It would do you good to look around the internet and see if anyone else with that particular model had the same problem.
If you don't get any information on it, i would recommend contacting HP's support.
Keep me updated.

You might want to check if your laptop is compatible with Windows 8 using this link by HP: http://www8.hp.com/au/en/ad/windows-8/instructions.html

Apparently there are a lot of HP models that were not tested for Windows 8 and in some cases HP does not provide driver for them.
