Corsair 550D and 650D

Thread Starter
Hello, I'm currently deciding what case i am going to choose out of these to for my new build, i have watched reviews for all of them and still cannot make my decicion im wonder on another opinion on what people think of these two cases and what would be the better option, im not running watercool by the way. And also with this case im going to be running the Lamptron FC5V2 fan controller, and was wondering if its possible to connect two fans into one connecter so i can plug that one connecter into the fan controller and be able to control two fans from the same knob?

Oh. My. God...

Finally someone who isn't going with the NZXT fan controller, thank you, my faith in humanity has been restored...

OK, The 650D is essentially the 800d without a few little features... Personally for watercooling i'd go with the 650d since it can take 2x 360mm rads and another 240mm rad with a little bit of modding.

You can get 3 pin splitters, i'd go with sleeved they look much nicer biggrin.gif

Comps

EDIT - http://www.ebay.com/itm/150945795414?hlp=false Just an example, you can get them cheaper

I would go got the 650D also, i had a 550D for a few months and the door hinges were already starting to crap out without heavy usage

Willy,

Why on this green earth do you have a 1200w PSU in that rig of yours??? You know it's not pulling more than 300w...

Whoa whoa whoa...

Why are you going with that chipset? You know it's pretty much a waste of money unless you're going to have 2 or more GPU's right....

You'd be much better off with

i7 3770k -processor
GA-Z77X-D3H -motherboard
samsung magic memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096

What are you using this machine for? Seriously, because you're spending all your money in all the wrong places...

I'd go with the antec high current gamer 620w... Epic PSU

Right ok,

You don't want that chipset at all to be honest. Seriously it's a waste of money

I'd go with this

i7 3770k -processor Hell you could go with the i5 3570k since games don't use hyperthreading biggrin.gif, that's another $100 I've just saved you
GA-Z77X-D3H -motherboard
samsung magic memory - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147096
Antec High Current Gamer 620w
7970 GHZ edition (Binned processor, overclocks a lot higher)
H100i CPU cooler

With the amount i've just saved you on the motherboard and processor you can get a decent CPU cooler because that one suuuuucks! I mean what's your budget and would you consider 2 GPU's? I mean if your budget allows go with xfire and get a seasonic X750 PSU
post #9 of 42
LOL it was cheap and wanted a fully modular psu beside this will be the only psu i will ever buy again
