This video of NDT talking about it.

Probably the way we would actually deflect an asteroid:

Maybe it happened on that day but it missed us? And our world has a second chance to make Earth better since it buzzed us and we have a chance to wake up alive and make the world a better place. All i gotta say is have faith.thumb.gif

I do know we have technology to prevent this kind of thing. The world is full of surprises. Especially the military because one can't simply open the gates and see what they working on. I wouldn't be surprised if we have much better stuff we don't know about the military has. I trust our Country is prepared for anything like this. The government has protocols biggrin.gif

They care about our country. I don't wanna start a political debate here but we will be still here the next day.

But..

I'd move to mars if i wanted to biggrin.gif

Vanquish aye?

I think we are fresh out of Space Knights.

I wonder if we amplified the frequency and directed it towards teh asteroid if this would work

Although, Windows is not capable of protecting itself from us, we still made way for a better or fresh OS. It feels good to get a fresh start, but this time you will not attempt all the stupid stuff that got you a virus and all your banking data was stolen. I hope you understand where I am getting with this.

But that's just it. Windows 7 is just a distant upgrade from windows 98. Microsoft doesn't just wipe out everything from its old OSes and start over, does it? No, just as we as humans will eventually get smarter and advance to the point that we CAN defend ourselves from something like this. I don't understand why you seem so intent on giving up and not trying to advance as a species. headscratch.gif

RIKER: Could we blow it into pieces?

DATA: The total mass of the moon would remain the same, Commander, and the impact of thousands of fragments would spread destruction over an even wider area.

I don't know if Data was right but the embarrassed look on Riker's face was worth it anyway.

i second the "send Bruce Willis and his rag-tag team of oil drillers to thwart the asteroid" idea. they thwarted that plan once, i am sure they can do it again.

Chick Norris's beard could handle it. thumb.gif
