I'm still loving Win8 personally. There are a few quirks that are annoying but overall I love the metro interface and the apps. Of course I also like WP8 too so maybe I'm just a sucker for the UI...

If you dont mind me asking, What kind of netbook do you have/use? And what did you Adjust on it for Windows 8... Im thinking about test running it on my little guy in my sig.

I am currently using a very old asus EEEPC 1000H model tongue.gif. Looking at your specs of your netbook, I think yours also runs as the same resolution as mine so it should be okay to run. It is worth noting that it's the Metro UI launch that, requires a minimum resolution of 1024*768 to run(mine is 1024*600). The OS however, can run fine at a lower resolution.

If you don't intend on launching your app through metro UI, and If you really love the start menu, there are free alternatives available if you are wanting the start menu back. I intend to install it on my main PC soon. I would recommend that you go to retail stores and get a feel of the OS.

If I resume your point, you don't need windows 8. Be glad you don't have to spend for something you already have thumb.gif
Microsoft don't even hide it, they introduced this new OS for the UI. I got it for 15$ and you can upgrade for 40$ with regular price.
I might be biased because I already have it but I actually went back to windows 7.
Nothing to be mad about thumb.gif

I'm not mad at Windows 8.

I'm mainly just mocking the web site who made that laughable list.

I'm hardly mad at it.

By all means sir, why don't you educate me on what I do and don't know about computers.

You and I have gone over this several times before.

Yes I know the changes. I've been an MSDN member for the past 19 years. I've been running Windows 8 for about 10 months now at work, because the company I work for, which develops custom software, has to be sure that it will continue to work on various OS platforms.

I know that Windows 8 does and doesn't do. I know what it is good for what what it is lacking for.

As I said before, I have to laugh at some of the items on that list, for reasons that I clearly spelled out.

Does that satisfy your quest for knowledge?

No. You've not demonstrated that you actually know what UAC changes were made.

But yes, the list is garbage.

You mean beside how it now runs in a medium integrity process as opposed to a high integrity process?
