Help me pick out parts? Thanks

Well it's time for a new build! I just got an Intel Core i7 3770k for an awesome price. *Holiday Deal* biggrin.gif Haven't really paid much attention about the new features of the boards.

I'm looking at both the GIGABYTE G1.Sniper 3 or Asus Maximus V Formula. I prefer using single cards so I'm going to wait till the next series and grab a GTX 780 or 8970

I also need a quiet cooler along with a 24" Monitor that looks nice and affordable.

What I already have: Corsair AX850 + Corsair 650D case and Mushkin 2133MHZ 8GB set

Goal: keep it under $578 for the motherboard + heatsink + monitor

If your not using the i7 to it's potential, it was a waste of money.
Get the Gigabyte G1.

Ya I like the sound of that gigabyte board myself.

If you already got the 3770 might as well keep it. Although Mhyles is right its def not worth the $ if you wont be using it completely.

Have you also got your eye on a SSD? Its pretty much a requirement IMO now a days as the difference between a SSD and a platter is INSANE.

You near a microcenter?

I've just ordered an Asus Maximus V. I have nothing but very good experience with Asus, my Sabertooth is awesome, and nothing but bad experience with Gigabyte, and I'm not alone in saying that Gigabyte is not quite up to Asus in terms of motherboards. So for the motherboard, Asus all the way without hesitation.

I can recommend the MVF. No Issues so far. I am able to overclock 100mhz more than on my old p8Z77 V LK while maintaining acceptable temps for 24/7 use

I have not worked with Gigabyte motherboards for a long time so i really cant say anything good or bad about them but i have worked with a lot of Asus motherboard and have never had a single problem or issue in fact i can only say good things about Asus motherboards
I would pick the Asus Maximus V Formula myself i dont know anything how the GIGABYTE G1.Sniper 3 is but if they are as good or better as the last Gigabyte motherboard i had you cant really go worng with any of them

I'll go with the Phanteks PH-PC14PE + Asus Rampage V Formula. Now all I need is a Monitor around $170-$200
