EVGA dont mind you removing the stock cooler. If the card is not physically modded they will take it back. They will replace it with whatever they think is equivalent to your GTX 480 (something like a refurb GTX 660, I guess).

If you butchered the PCB or the stock cooler, it's another story, though.

I did not mod the card in any physical way, though i did flash it with an unlocked bios for more voltage options. So I guess i will be rma-ing it. Do i contact newegg or evga, cause this is my first time rmaing and I dont really know.

I'm guessing he flashed his bios for Full voltage range so if that was detected they could reject him.
Though For the most part I doubt they would care, they most likely would replace it with a refub GTX480 or upgrade you to a 500 or 600 series card.

sounds like when i did a similar H60 mod on my 570's, both of them blew the VRMs after a few months of use (insufficient cooling on my part confusedsmiley.png )

i would contact EVGA for warranty (unless the card is less then 30 or 60 days old)

hopefully EVGA will RMA it for you, i bet that they would replace it with a similar performing card of a newer generation (unless they have 480s in a refurb warehouse)

though with a firmware volt-mod you may have voided the warranty......

This ... your cards vrms might be exploded. Running at 1.213mV is an ultra extremely high voltage for Fermi without full waterblocks. That's only the GPU that is reached 76 C or 80 C during your testing but the VRM temperatures must be something like 110 C or even over that at this crazy voltage.

I bought this card a long time ago before the summer but I did register it with evga, dont they have 1 year warranty or something. And do you really think they wont accept it because of the flashed bios?

They will not accept it with a flashed bios. I definitely wouldn't. People overclock. That's why the original bios has a limit. But once you take that limit off, it's hard to do anything.....

I think you did blow the VRM's. I have a full block on mine and make sure the VRM's are cool.

Good luck

Might as well. I wouldn't want to give them any more reasons to deny your RMA... smile.gif
