Couple different questions (Thermaltake Water 2.0 Extreme)

Thread Starter
I put this in water cooling, didn't really know where else to put it, mods please move if needed, thank you.

Now I got that out of the way.

I just recently picked up a Thermaltake water 2.0 extreme. I couldn't be happier with it. Only issue I have is that it does not have enough leads on it's fan control header for push/pull. (also it does not fit in my case)

So knowing that I have two questions;

(1) Will it hurt/reduce performance if I get two fan splutters and power four fans using the on board controller?

and

(2) What cases will fit this in push/pull without mods?

Thanks for looking!

CM storm trooper is the case to have although for push pull you will push both fans pull with one fan. as the forth is restricted by the handle.

The Cooler Master Half 932 (advanced) will work as well (i own this case)

that one will fit it. the splitters will not hurt anything.

You need to ensure that the fan header you are going to connect to has sufficient power to handle the four fans, in this case the one on the unit itself. If the fans are going to draw more power than what is available, you will very likely burn out the electronics through which the power passes. Add an extra 10 - 20% to the requirement for safety's sake. Please don't just go ahead and add the extra fans if you are not sure there is enough power to properly handle the fans.

Yea I love the looks of both of those cases but they are a bit out of my price range =(

I am looking in the 100 USD price range (+/-$10) (should have put that in the OP sorry)

Have been looking at this case:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129179

It looks like it would fit push or pull but not both =/

Thanks for the tip on the spliters too, and the case advice +REP

O... K...? how can I find out what it's power output is?

Sorry, can't help you. I will say that the spec sheet says .5A for the fan. If that is for one fan, that means it is pulling 1A (12 Watts) for the two fans it comes with. That is more than most fan controllers. I doubt if it will take four of those fans if they are rated at .5 Amp each.

I was planning on getting new fans for it so I would have all matching, is there such thing as a .25A fan with high static pressure? lol

EDIT: Wow I really need to start reading before posting lol, yea there are a ton of really good fans with a low amperage

Is a 4pin molex to 4x fan pin connector in the question??
or what about going off the mother board itself?

also that case looks only big enough for a pull situation. to me it looks like enough room for the rad on the inside then fans on outside. as the MOBO is so close to the top. (reg design for fans internal no rad)
