[Help] Need a new power supply!

Thread Starter
I need a new power supply. I run a WC Asrock z77 oc formula 2500k, 16gb ddr3 corsair dominator, WC EVGA GTX 670 4gb and 6 corsair fans.

What would be an adequate power supply for those needs?

I would say an AX650 or AX750 if you feel the need for more power. thumb.gif

The EVGA would be a good one I think. I have seen people using the 1500 Watt one and they like it. The 1500 watt one has a 1 to 1 pin out if you want to sleeve the PSU.

The EVGAs are getting bad reviews:

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/12/11/evga_supernova_nex1500_classified_power_supply_review/9

The new Seasonic X series are very good (I have a X-850). A review of this third generation Seasonic X-650 came out today:

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/Seasonic-X-Series-KM3-650-W-Power-Supply-Review/1690

They are superb performers. Go for the Seasonic.

I assume the Amazon ones are the new series.. Newegg is certainly selling the new KM3 X series:

The new Seasonic also have a 7 year warranty FWIW

Why is it that all high wattage Seasonic PSUs have ugly cables?
X750 has black painted cables, good job.
X850, nope ugly colored ones.

They all have all black ribbon cables now, except the main CPU connector, which is sleeved. - Including the X-850.
To me what counts is the performance, the quality and functionality of the PSU
The cables are not painted.

Ugly is in the eye of the beholder. I have very little space between the backside of my motherboard and case so I appreciate the flat cables - they are much easier to route and almost all of the flat cables, except the video PCI-E are routed out of site anyhow.

@ OP, that's is a <300W system at full load, look for a Seasonic G series or a Rosewill Capstone unit... the 450W versions of these products would make excellent choices for that system.
