True but for gaming you will not see any improvement in hyper threading. It is a waist of money to have hyper threading if you going to make a gaming rig. If you do alot of video rendering then I would say yes to the 3770k . I was in the same boat as you I wanted was going to get the 3770k so I could say I had the ball in CPU but then I started reading threads and forms. Im so glad I didnt waist my money on the 3770k and I saved 100 bucks and put it towards water cooling. The choice is yours but trust me the 3770k is not worth it if you game you will never see its full potential. Just my advice from one pc geek to another

Before this 570 i had the GTX 560 SE and it was a solid 15+ fps.

In unigine I went from average of 16 FPS with everything maxed out to about 32ish!

I just would really like to try out the i7 platform, I mean I know most everyone recommend a i5 for gaming and such, but if I'm not going to be hurting for money if I buy it then I figure why not ? I Would get watercooling but I don't plan to do any overclocking over around 4.2 or 4.3 and that can easily be cooled with a decent air cooler so thats why I am not getting a water set up.

No, you won't be "hurting" but seriously for what you're doing an i7 is overkill. The money you save by getting an i5 could be put to other uses. smile.gif

Or he can be more efficient with is money..smile.gif

Edit: Honestly, if you have your heart set on an i7, then go for it. Just understand that an i5 is perfectly adequate for you and you might wish you hadn't spent the extra 100 bucks on a processor later. wink.gif
