Is This 7950 Voltage Locked?

Thread Starter
Hey guys. Sorry if this has been asked before but there are a lot of models and it got confusing following what models are and which ones aren't.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006

Also another thing I am wondering. Does this card blow hot air outside of the case or does it blow the air inside the case?

Thanks.

this sapphire hd 7950 boost is a good choice. there are users who have mentioned that its voltage unlocked. though you should wait for confirmation from people who have this card. this card also has a higher stock voltage and 925 mhz boost speeds. so even at stock voltage you can hit 1.1 Ghz. the dual x cooler is also good. this card will blow the hot air into the case.

New member here. I just bought this exact card. Good deal price wise. Heres what i found out:

Its on the normal 7950 board which means the dual 6-pin connectors. This was kind of expected as Sapphire has a $330 version of the same card that must use the newer board.

The card is VERY quiet. Even 100% fan is easily tolerable.

The card blows hot air into the case. I thought this was a strange design when i opened it but its quiet and with good case management it probably isnt a problem.

I dont exactly know what you mean by voltage being unlocked. Actually my first post on this board will be askig about voltage. What im seeing is the ability to adjust core voltage up to 1.250v cant seem to get it passed that even though msi afterburner says 1.3v. I, and you, probably dont need to go that high anyway on the stock cooler.

ATI drivers are crap. AC3 didnt work at all with the latest official driver (however it does with the latest beta ones)
I got artifacts in Unigine Heaven benchmark at stock speeds which mostly means a driver issue however I always use this program as my OC test so this was very inconvienent.

Apparently (i dont know how) this card Has a dual bios and the second bios is has more setting unlocked. This is all unconfirmed but might be some google searches.

Anything else you want to know let me know. I probably already gave you more info than you wanted.

Here's my OC results: I only got about 1020mhz on stock valtage which was a bummer. I upped it to 1.250v and it is so far stable (oc scanner and 3dmark 11) at 1125mhz which im fine with. I have a quiet but well vented case with h50 cooled cpu and the card topped out under oc scanner at 75C with 100% fan (this probably isnt a real workload). Temps under 3dM 11 only hit 70c at 80% fan.

-typed on my phone (comp is running benchmarks lol)
