Help me pick? Open to other suggestions.

Alright so I'm in the market for a mechanical keyboard, looking to replace my Logitech G110. I've narrowed it down to a couple but I have a few criterion:
  • MX Cherry Browns/Blues, going to be doing some gaming and some typing. Can anyone help me pick between these?
  • Tenkeyless. I really prefer something compact, despite the fact that I have extra desk space.
  • Sleek and minimalistic. I really really like the front-placed lettering on the Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja.
  • Black, as much black as possible. If it has colored LED keys I'm open to it.

Here are the few I've seen so far that I like:

Filco Majestouch-2 Ninja w/ MX Browns - $149.00 on Amazon

KBT 75% Race w/ MX Browns - $129.00 + shipping through KBT

Ducky Shine II w/ MX Browns - $135.00 on MechanicalKeyboards.com

I'm digging the KBT. smile.gif

However, you simply can't go wrong with Razer:

I'm definitely leaning towards the KBT as well. As far as Razer products go... I have had problems with 'em in the past. They make a great mousepad but I've owned a Razer Naga and that broke within 6 months, and a friend owns a Razer Lycosa that I dislike. To each their own, of course, but I'm going to avoid Razer.

that isnt tenkeyless.

You can get KBT keyboards (vortex) from mechanicalkeyboards.com without the LEDs if u want. If ur not going backlit, the quality of the filco will be much better than the quality of the KBT... though the KBT is nice, I have had both.

I've seen some pics of the KBT with blue LEDs and it looks awesome:

But yeah, I'm worried about the build quality. Is it a HUGE difference between that and the filco?

Yes. If you want LEDs and high build quality u might try an 10keyless ducky shine II or a limited edition pure/kbt race with a metal casing. The thing is there is some flex on the kbt race case when typing. its not huge, and if that doesn't bother you by all means, but its there.

I'll have to decide soon, but I think right now it's between the Ducky Shine II and the KBT Race. I couldn't find the 75% Race with an aluminum casing unfortunately, so I'll have to either go with that or go with the Ducky. Anyways, I have some time to think. Thanks for the help!

I've been pretty happy with my Shine II. Got one with red switches 'bout 2 weeks ago; just ordered one with brown switches now too as I haven't been ecstatic about the reds. But I've had no problems with it other than my choice of switches, the build quality is fantastic, the LEDs are great, and I must say the aesthetics of the board are outstanding.

One thing to watch out for though is the board is quite tall, so there is some strain on my wrist, especially while gaming. I put in an order for a wrist rest though now, so we'll see how that works out. Just something to keep in mind if you go for a Ducky.

Can't say how good or bad the KBT Race is. It does look nice from what I see in pictures. I'd say you can't go wrong with the Ducky though.

Yeah, see this is my position as well. I definitely prefer the aesthetic and layout of the KBT Race, but I need something that'll last me a long time, and that's the Ducky route. The tallness factor is interesting, something I wish I could test physically. Thanks for the input!
