i'm actually really enjoying the game (but im glad i bought it really cheap, $70 for limit ed was way too much). When i finally got my copy the servers were nice and stable but the little bugs in the game are crippling.

Lets hope now that they seem to have this server issue under control they roll out a patch for the AI and such, city sizes wouldn't be a hugh issue if regional cities worked correctly

other than that, pretty nice game and the interface is nice too, bit simpler than old simcities (and other city games like citiesxl) but not too dumbed down it feels like it came from a console tongue.gif

I agree, I noticed yesterday that out of 65,000 people only 6,000 of them are working and there are 12,000 unfilled jobs. I went bankrupt 3 times last night because of the "lack of work", it annoys me more than the traffic / emergency services issue. But the interface and the game in general I really like. Would really like larger areas to build though so I can expand my houses. biggrin.gif

just spent the last few hours attempting to split one city across the region (ie, residential/commercial city and an industrial city (providing all the water/power/trash/waste/etc also)

Sort of worked tongue.gif

Main issue i ran into was the residential city progressed too fast and wouldn't commute properly (have a feeling i need that regional bus terminal/trains/etc to work this right) then moved up in wealt, in the end i have a residential city thats complaining theres no jobs (it progressed to $$ territory and wanted more $$$ residents), and an industrial city complaining theres no workers (stuck with $ industrial and wouldn't progress without zoning residential within that city to fill the jobs which would never progess the industry without educating that entire city also)

Also found that money ingress was really slow in both cities because of this, as soon as i zoned some industrial in the residential city and some residential/commercial in the industrial city both took off in profits.

I guess the way to go is to build up a full mixed city with all the regional transports/trade depo's/etc then start building up a industrial city whilst slowly removing industrial from the other (and using that city to fund/support the industrial)

Has anyone else had an attempt at splitting cities like this? What method did you use to keep industrial zones completely out of your residential city?

is this a thread where people are actually talking about the game and not just complaining about online connectivity??????

i have a number of cities in various stages of experimentation and development... the first one is receiving uncontrollable air pollution from OUTSIDE OF MY CITY... lulz. I sent in the giant lizard and let him wreak havoc through my industrial section...

I have found that i seem to prefer wind generated power, over the coal burning simply because the last few plots have had AWESOME wind generating capabilities... one of them averages 18-21mph which makes the turbines generate a lot of power for the cost.

How do I get high wealth jobs? I have 3,000 $$$ residents unemployed but struggling to work out where to get them jobs.

The traffic needs to be worked on a bit but other than that, the game is great and I'm really enjoying it! smile.gif

education education education

Your education level drives a LOT of different factors, including the wealth of your citizens... better educated sims get better jobs. Education level also reduces garbage and polution, causes your sims to get sick less and cause fewer fires.
