It's annoying how the game has potential but they're just not filling it.

I have it on pre order so I'm going to reserve my full opinions till I have played the full game.

I honestly stopped worrying about reviews a long time ago, I just want a game I can sink some time into and maybe play with 15 other people biggrin.gif

"Even if my city is completely gridded, it constantly tells me there’s high residential and industrial demand, which implies I’m doing something wrong. “Zone more residential!” is says. “GIVE ME BIGGER BORDERS, THEN.”

Yes, cities are small. I like that this forces hard trade-offs, but do I ever wish I could defy the game and pull a road out into the untouched land beyond my dotted line? All the time"

that did raise an intersting point but when he was at 150000 pop he did have a challenge of balance smile.gif Im looking foward to the challenge and not really phased on the size of the map honestly.

Was playing SimCity4 today and got my city up to about 200k population and then when I alt-tabbed out to change pandora it force closed on me.

Lost 4 hours of work since I hadn't saved.

Looking forward to the new one, was planning on playing SC4 for a couple of weeks (started a new job a month ago so time is kind of limited right now anyway as are funds while I'm saving for a new car) but I think that might have pushed me over the edge to make the purchase tonight...

We'll see.

I don't mind the smaller size but I do mind that the plots are all spaced out in the region.

If it had the same number of cities available as they do now but all in one small cluster next to each other I would be fine with it since I almost never used more than 3-4 large plots in SC4 at one time.

You know I really want to play a new Sim City and i was really looking forward to this one even with its always online DRM and saving to the cloud. I think I could look past that as I have a feeling no matter how hard people fight it game will mostly become cloud based with always online requirement. However now that I see the actual sizes of the maps I am a little concerned, also hearing rumors about it only sunning on a single core and not taking advantage of dual and quad core technology. I think I will wait on this and see where it goes before I make the initial purchase, if its filled with $15 DLC's then as much as I would enjoy playing I dont think I could deal with spending $100+ on a game I cant save to my hard drive at any time and risk them shutting down the cloud in a few years when the next sim city comes out.

This all makes me very sad, I hope they can release some "patches" of DLC to expand the city building area. I have read a few reviews saying the reason the map is so small is because the average computer wouldnt be able to handle all the little actions going on. While this might be true I have this very odd feeling that its because they didnt build proper infrastructure to store large maps on cloud.

I think what most people are forgetting is one city doesn't have to have everything! Specialize in some stuff not everything tongue.gif
