Nice work! Make sure you clean the brasso off before mounting. It leaves a film on the metal.

Just so you know next time, the clip comes off. Just undo the scew and it slides right out. I lapped mine too and got a 1-2C drop.

w00t! looks sw33t. Here's another glory shot for brasso from my lapped opty 165... it makes a world of difference, although your bottle is vintage, do they still sell it like that? a lot of the very fine scratchs I could see up close where gone after 2 applications of brasso. Of course I had to clean afterwards with some ArtiClean.

I still don't get where you drop the water?
you really drop it on the black side?

yes on the black side, it acts like a lubricant, and makes sure the paper doesn't get clogged up.

I actually found using water scuffed up my finish even more. Could not get it to work. In the end I just stuck with dry sanding and using a can-o-air to blow the metal shards away. Worked for me I guess.
